As mentioned yesterday, Camp Grandma took a trip to Middletown, Ohio to visit Triple Moon Coffee Company-one of the best coffee shops ever! The campers got chocolate milk-not as fancy as expected because it was busy, but delicious nonetheless. Grilled cheese to eat was a no-brainer. The stretch factor on the cheese was phenomenal!
The campers found a deck of cards and started playing “Go Fish.” Apparently, the rules I know are not the current day rules. No matter, they had fun. Since fun was the goal, we stopped at a park on the way home. The only stipulation was that there be monkey bars. Monkey bars were plentiful and awesome. This director had to stay in the car because we had taken the camp dog, Nash Potato, along with us to the coffee shop, and there were no pets allowed at this particular park. While sitting in the car watching from a distance as the campers played, this director noticed a young person on a bicycle wearing a mask like Michael Myers wore in the Halloween movies. They rode their bicycle up to the play area and got off and started to play along with the other kids mask still firmly on their face. There were plenty of other parents around and lots of kids and no one seemed to be phased by this at all. Maybe this camp director is just getting old, but I was a little disturbed by this kid. On the other hand, how cool that a kid can play in a horror movie mask and no one blinks an eye.
Tomorrow is Easter. The campers are going to their grandfather’s for Easter dinner. After they are finished there, they will be dropped off at a hotel. The camp director has gotten a room close to the Dayton Art Institute. More tomorrow.
