I am a C
I am a C-H
I am a C-H-R-I-S-T-I-A-N
and I have C-H-R-I-S-T in my H-E-A-R-T…..
You know how it goes. My daughter learned this song At Procter Camp one Summer. On the hour and a half drive home I was made to sing this song over and over until I got it right. I never got it right-mostly just to drive her nuts. But I’ve never forgotten the song either.
I think Christianity has some basic parameters but for each individual I think Christianity plays out
differently based on your upbringing, your life experience your
mindset in the moment. Do you live out your life as a Christian
at all times? I do try but I can honestly say I’m not successful.
When I was a youth group leader, and I would stray a little too far off the “good” path, any one of several kids in my group who knew, could simply hold up their hand in the shape of a “C” to quietly remind me to reign it in a little bit. I would do the same to them as well. To this day I have a friend or two and of course my daughter, who will occasionally hold up their hand in the shape of a “C” when I need a reminder. Yes, I struggle with living a Christian life. But I try, and I have good friends who will “C” me when I need it most.
